Q: How did you end up in the parking industry?

A: I couldn’t find parking in Cambridge, MA, during grad school, so I looked into the industry and found out that it’s been left behind significantly for software and data technologies. I strongly believed that everyone deserves a great working tool so I jumped in by starting Smarking, an enterprise SaaS company to bring the best technologies to the parking industry.

Q: What’s been your single greatest challenge been in your career?  

A: Building an awesome team.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you can give to someone starting out in the parking industry?

A: Clients come first – whenever and wherever.

Q: If you were a new color added to the crayon box, what color are you, why?

A: Transparent – that’s my communication style.

Q: How do you relax?

A: Movie marathon!

Q: What inspires you?

A: Big projects pulled off by human beings, from the Great Wall to recyclable rockets.

Q: How do you achieve work/life balance?

A: Let my wife help me get disciplined from being a workaholic.

Q: If you had a plane ticket to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

A: Lüliang, China – that’s home.

A: Cranking out the next product feature to get our clients excited!
