Women In Parking Appoints Dawn Marti as Organization and Events Manager

Dawn PortraitHOUSTON, TX | May 4, 2017 – The Women In Parking (WIP) organization has brought on industry events consultant Dawn Marti to step into the role as Organization and Events Manager. Marti will be responsible for managing administrative and event duties on the organization’s behalf. Founded in 2011, Women in Parking is an association of professionals who foster the advancement and achievement of women in the parking industry. With representatives from nearly every discipline, WIP shares a common goal to provide opportunities in the areas of career advancement and networking.

Marti is the owner of Newman Concepts, a conference planning and association management firm based in Columbia, MD. Her firm oversees administrative and event planning for many of the industry’s regional parking conferences including Middle Atlantic Parking Association, New England Parking Council, Parking Association of the Virginia’s, Pennsylvania Parking Association, Southwest Parking and Transportation Association, Washington Parking Association and the Ohio Parking Association. Additionally, Marti acts as liaison to the International Parking Institute and the National Parking Association on behalf of the eight state and regional associations that her company currently manages.

During Marti’s tenure with WIP, she will coordinate all networking events and tradeshow activities for WIP. She will also manage the membership database and ultimately expand the organization’s membership and sponsorship. Marti will work alongside each of the organization’s membership committees to assist with marketing.

In accepting the position, Marti commented that “I am excited and honored to work with Women in Parking in this new capacity. I look forward to contributing my skills to promote positive change for the organization.” Dawn’s first appearance on behalf of WIP will be at the upcoming International Parking Institute (IPI) Conference and Expo, from May 22-24, 2017. Introductions will be held during the conference and at the WIP booth (#510).
